UNITEN INTER-DEPARTMENT PROGRAMMING COMPETITION

Introduction

Inter-Department Programming Competition is an inaugural competition organized by Academic Competition Committee (ACC), College of Information Technology (COIT), Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN). The organizing committee cordially invites every department in College of Information Technology (COIT) and College of Engineering (COE) in UNITEN (Putrajaya Campus) to participate in the competition.

Objectives

To create awareness for the undergraduate students to appreciate the importance of computer programming in the current industry.

To serve as a platform for undergraduate students to demonstrate programming skills for future inter university competition.

Prizes

First: $800 cash + Cert + Trophy
Second: $500 cash + Cert
Third: $300 cash + Cert
2 Merit Winners: Hampers ($50 each)

Competition Rules

1. The competition is opened to all Undergraduate Students but not Final semester students.
2. Each department can send at most TWO (2) teams with TWO (2) participants per team.
3. Programming language for the competition is C using Microsoft Visual C++ 6.0 compiler.
4. Competition runs from 9am-1pm for 4 hours continuously.
5. Participants are allowed to refer to books (open book) but not to converse with anyone except team members and organizer.
6. Teams are not allowed to write in the submitted programs any comments that would identify them, such as their names or the name of their department.
7. The correctness of outputs and the speed of completing the problems will be used in the judging criteria.

Judging Criteria

1. Teams are ranked according to the highest score earned.
2. Teams who earned the same score are ranked by the least total time.
3. Judging criteria will be based on the followings:
• The program compiles without error
• The program runs without logical error
• The program produces output that matches the criteria set by the judges
• Time of completion
