UNITEN’s BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering Accredited by iMechE


The Institution of Mechanical Engineers or widely known as iMechE has recently awarded UNITEN’s BEng (Hons) Mechanical Engineering with full five years accreditation to cover the 2007 until 2011 student cohort intakes. This accreditation will contribute towards meeting the exemplifying academic benchmark requirements, in full, for membership of the Institution and the exemplifying academic benchmark requirements, in part, for registration as a Chartered Engineer.

Students who are awarded with an accredited BEng (Hons) will be required to complete an approval format of the further learning pursuant to the requirements of UK-SPEC. The BSc (Hons) fully meets the academic requirements for registrations as an Incorporated Engineer (IEng). Over 150 years, iMechE, a renowned United Kingdom’s qualifying body has been the home of Mechanical Engineers. Around 75,000 engineers world-wide are its members. Thus, with this prestigious accreditation from iMECHE, UNITEN is gradually carving its path in becoming a world class university.
